Our Technology

The Optomap is quick, painless, and may not require dilation drops.

At Cosmopolitan Eyecare, we use the latest technology to aid in the early detection, prevention, and treatment of eye diseases. We offer advanced technology, such as the Optomap, which brings eye care to another level. While eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the retina, with Optomap or dilation, is critical to verify that your eye is healthy.

This can lead to early detection of common diseases, such as:

Glaucoma (Increased Eye Pressure)– Causing damage to the optic nerve, glaucoma almost always develops without symptoms.

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR)– Diabetes affects the eyes and the kidneys and is a leading cause of blindness. Retinopathy occurs when diabetes damages the tiny blood vessels inside the retina.

Aged-related macular degeneration (AMD)– The center of the retina (the macula) can become diseased as we get older. This results in alterations to our fine central vision making daily activities such as driving and reading difficult.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)– Increased pressure can result in changes to blood vessels in the eye, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease (stroke or heart disease).

The Optomap is quick, painless, and may not require dilation drops.
